Behind-the-Wheel Training
Behind-the-Wheel Training
Students MUST be 15 1/2 years of age and MUST have a Drivers Education Completion Certificate before they are eligible to take the written test for a permit at the D.M.V.
Once students obtain a permit through the D.M.V. they may schedule their first lesson for behind-the-wheel training.
After students complete their first behind-the-wheel lesson, the instructor will validate their permit, which allows them to legally drive with a licensed driver over 25 years of age.
It is best for students to schedule lessons 2 months apart, with the last lesson being within one week of the D.M.V. drive test. (It is recommended that students contact the D.M.V. approximately one month in advance, to schedule the drive test).
If under 18, a student must have a permit for 6 months before they can take the drive test with the D.M.V.
Once the D.M.V. Drive Test is scheduled, contact Wheatland Driving Academy to schedule and complete the last lesson and receive the Behind-the-Wheel Certificate.
